Halloween and Your Pet – 2 of 2

Today, some tips for you on Halloween costume and food safety!
Costumes: Pets can look adorable all dressed up! Make sure that the costume that you purchase does not cause discomfort, breathing or visual obstruction to your little guy (or gal). Check for chewing and parts that have come loose.  We want everyone to enjoy the festivities, not spend time at the vet.
Food: Halloween candy/chocolate is for our human friends only.  Veterinarian clinics report chocolate poisoning in dogs as one of the top problems that they face in the Fall season.  Ingestion of these toxins (or the wrappers that they’re in) can cause problems such as (but not limited to) vomiting, diarrhea, decreased appetite and organ damage.
Be safe.  Don’t risk it.
